Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Sugar Signals mobile application or website (together, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including those who create accounts, enter data, or access shared data through the Service.

Description of Service

Sugar Signals is a mobile application that helps families log and organize daily diabetes data, including meals, glucose readings, insulin doses, and related notes. The Service provides tools for data entry, visualization, and sharing among authorized caregivers.

Sugar Signals is not a medical device. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Always consult your child's healthcare team for medical decisions.

Accounts & Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:

Provide accurate, current, and complete information.
Maintain the security of your account credentials.
Promptly update your information if it changes.
Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account. Accounts are intended for parents and caregivers, not for children to use directly.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose — logging and organizing diabetes-related data for your family. You may not:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
Attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization.
Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
Use the Service to store data unrelated to its intended purpose.
Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.

Subscriptions & Billing

Sugar Signals offers subscription plans that provide access to premium features. By subscribing, you agree to the following:

Billing: You will be charged the subscription fee at the beginning of each billing period (monthly or annually, depending on your plan).
Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds: Refund policies are governed by the respective app store through which you purchased the subscription.
Price changes: We may change subscription pricing with reasonable advance notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.

Free features of the Service remain accessible without a subscription.

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, graphics, and content (excluding user-entered data), is owned by Sugar Signals and protected by intellectual property laws.

Your data remains yours. You retain full ownership of all data you enter into the Service. We claim no ownership over your health data, notes, or entries.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended personal and family purpose.

Disclaimers

Not medical advice. Sugar Signals is a data logging tool. It does not diagnose conditions, recommend treatments, or provide medical advice of any kind. Any insights, patterns, or summaries presented by the Service are for informational purposes only and should not replace professional medical guidance.

Provided "as is." The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Service's reliability, accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Data accuracy. You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter. Sugar Signals does not verify or validate health data entries.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sugar Signals and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

Loss of data or data inaccuracy.
Medical outcomes or health decisions made based on information displayed by the Service.
Service interruptions or unavailability.
Unauthorized access to your account or data.

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may also suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:

You violate these Terms.
Your use of the Service poses a security risk.
We are required to do so by law.
We discontinue the Service (with reasonable advance notice).

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. We will handle your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, including providing a reasonable window to export your data when possible.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts located in Connecticut, United States.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will:

Post the updated Terms on our website with a new "Last updated" date.
Notify you through the app or via email for material changes.

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
